The social, legal, policy, and ethical implications, applications, challenges, and opportunities of advances in science and technology captivate me. My academic work spans neuroethics, neurolaw, philosophy and ethics of technology, complex systems theory, futures, feminism, gender studies, bioethics, philosophy of tort and criminal law, and political philosophy. The Supreme Court of the United States of America, and Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, cite my publications. I've written for The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC Online, The Conversation, and Gizmodo, and appeared on The Philosopher’s Zone, ABC Radio, The Feed, and SBS Insight. Crowds are scary, but my TED talk at the Sydney Opera House, and Intelligence Squared debates in Sydney and Washington, DC, were so much fun!
